「What’s up?」
<英語でdefinition!> What is wrong?
カジュアルに「どうしたの？」と様子を訪ねる表現。What are you doing?(何をしているの？), What is happening?（何が起きてるの？）等の意味でも使われます。
例文 What’s up with Richard? He’s looked miserable all day!

単語・表現

| Manager: | Tell Patrick that his figures for the Davis account are wildly inaccurate. He needs to recalculate them, and this time include depreciation. Also, tell him to rewrite his summary page. It is riddled with spelling mistakes! All this must be resubmitted to me by my first day back. |
| Secretary: | Right. Got it. |
| Manager: | And could you please get Mary to resend the last invoice she sent to Johnstone’s? I’ve just got off the phone with someone in their accounts who said it must have got caught in the fax machine, and all she has is a smudged mess. |
| Secretary: | That fax machine has been playing up for a while now. I’ll make a note to get someone in to fix it. |
| Manager: | Yes, please do. One last thing, and it is the most urgent, to fix the bug we have in our electronic data transfer system, our system engineer says all we need to do is wipe the software from every computer, reinstall it and then reboot. Can you handle that? |
| Secretary: | I’ll get to it right away. Enjoy your trip and see you when you get back. If any pressing matters should arise in your absence, I have your mobile number. |
