| Giles: | I don’t! My point is, the mobile phone affords you the means by which to contact people and talk about the most trifling of things whenever you wish. What is wrong with storing these up for when you meet face-to-face? |
| Takuo: | Granted. Most mobile phone calls are not important, but you are overlooking the fact that possessing a mobile phone has been the difference between life and death on a number of cases. |
| Giles: | Mobile phones are a source of public disturbance, and their use in confined public spaces should be curbed by law, if necessary. I’m no eavesdropper, but I’ve heard every word of that woman over there’s banal conversation. She should be made to go outside or hang up! |
| Takuo: | I fail to see your logic. What is the difference between her having a conversation on the phone and one with someone in here? I’m sure you raising your voice just now was just as irritating to others here. |
| Giles: | Maybe. However, it wasn’t preceded by an annoying ring tone. And at least our exchange has been a constructive, thought-provoking one. |
| Takuo: | That’s very judgemental! I never took you for being a snob. This conversation has become very unsavoury. When I can get the waiter’s attention, I’ll pay my bill and be off. Sorry. |
