会話

Kyle: Hi Alice. How’s your job going?
Alice: Good. Really good. I love it.
Kyle: Oh, that’s good.
Alice: Yeah, I’ve got a really inspiring boss. She’s really empowering and gives the staff plenty of flexibility to work at their own pace. I find it really motivating to work for her.
Kyle: Gosh, that sounds like the exact opposite of my boss. My boss is really unsupportive and demanding of the staff.
Alice: I couldn’t stand working for an autocratic boss like that.
Kyle: I couldn’t believe it, the other day, he asked me to write a report on our website users, even though I’m up to my eyeballs with my own paperwork. And I asked him what he wanted in the report, but he said that he was too busy to talk to me and that I should learn to use my own initiative more.
Alice: That’s a bit unfair. He could have at least told you the basic parameters.
Kyle: I know.
Alice: I’m learning so much from my boss. She always provides the staff with plenty of feedback, you know, she gives us plenty of praise when we do something well, and gives us constructive feedback if we make mistakes.
Kyle: Oh man, that sounds like my ideal boss!
Alice: Yeah, it really helps to create a good atmosphere when you have a good boss, you know, with teambuilding and stuff.
Kyle: Mm, I agree. There wouldn’t be any vacant positions in your office by any chance???
