“Make a pass at...”
<英語でdefinition!> Talk to a man or woman with the intention of dating them.
ここでの"pass"は、「色目」という意味です。"Make a pass"は「ナンパする」「言い寄る」というイディオムで、at以下に言い寄る対象を付け加えることができます。
ちなみに"pass"には、アメフトなど球技の際に「パスを出す」という際の「パス」の意味もあります。状況/文脈によっては、"make a pass"は、「（球技の最中に）パスを出す」という意味にもなります。
例文 I am sure that man with the dark blue shirt made a pass at me. He was constantly complementing my appearance.

| Giles: | That’s pressure! Right, first, let’s check your posture…That’s it. Hold your head up more. It helps clear your throat in order to give your voice greater clarity. |
| Ryuji: | I’m fine with all of that. Content—and how to convey it best—is what concerns me. These are important people, after all. |
| Giles: | Don’t waffle. Keep your sentences concise. And make your language carry weight. But be sure to start with a punchy opening line to your intro. You want to grab their attention from the outset. |
| Ryuji: | Now that’s where I really need your help—with the language. My English is good, but nowhere near good enough to articulate myself to your level. |
| Giles: | Have you drafted a speech yet? |
| Ryuji: | Not a speech, as such. More like a few bullet points laid down in the order I want to say them. |
| Giles: | For you, a complete speech, and the pressure to remember it word for word, would just act on your nerves still further. |
| Ryuji: | Will you do me a favour and really scrutinize the points I have made so far – not just give them a cursory look-over? And I would appreciate your candour. Don’t shy away from telling me what you truly think just because we are friends. |
| Giles: | No, that wouldn’t do you any favours. OK, put them in an email and get them over to me in the next few days. I’ll be sure to highlight any alterations I make. |
