お役立ち英語フレーズ
「Take it out on」
Meaning:To strongly persuade someone to not do something.
Example:I have tried to talk Wayne out of quitting his job at the bank. I think it would be a big mistake!

| Phil: | So, did you land that contract with Roach Logan? If yes, the drinks are definitely on you this evening! |
| Mark: | Did you ever doubt me? Of course I got it! It couldn’t have gone better, actually. Mr. Logan, or as Paul as he likes to be known, couldn’t have been a nicer guy. |
| Phil: | His manner towards you wouldn’t have anything to do with that large incentive you said you were going to put on the table, would it? |
| Mark: | You couldn’t be more wrong, Phil. And, in fact, he had no objections to the regular price and credit options, so I’ve made us an extra 15million yen! I couldn’t have hoped for a better outcome. |
| Phil: | You must have done a pretty decent sales pitch. From what I’ve heard, he usually wants sweeteners. When I was with Stalks, he wanted 20% off the factory price and 0% finance for the first year. You couldn’t meet a man that drives a harder bargain. |
| Mark: | Let me tell you a little secret. I offered Yuko, one of the senior accountants who just happens to be my girlfriend, a cut of my sales commission to do a little digging into RL’s finances, and let’s just say that she came across a few irregularities that would certainly warrant a thorough investigation. |
| Phil: | You blackmailed him? That’s totally unscrupulous! |
| Mark: | Not at all! In a very surreptitious manner I managed to let it be known that his“creative accounting”had not gone unnoticed. |
| Phil: | You couldn’t have done a more stupid thing! He’s no fool and he’ll know that someone has been prying, and we, as a company, not just you, will be in breach of who knows how many codes of conduct, let alone laws. Unbelievable! |
| Mark: | So, you don’t fancy that drink later? |
| Phil: | NO I DO NOT! |
