物事の進捗について話す際には、alreadyや yet, あるいは so far やup to nowを使います。物事が既に完了している場合はalreadyや yetを、未完了である場合はso far やup to nowを使って表現することができます。

| Director: | That’s not encouraging news. And have you already decided which media you’ll be using for the ad campaign? |
| Account Manager: | It’s going to be radio and television. We’ve already secured the agreement of two local radio stations, but up to now it has proved harder to sway the TV stations... |
| Director: | Sway? |
| Account Manager: | Yes. It’s because up to now, they’ve never advertised such a thing. |
