「What’s up?」
<英語でdefinition!> What is wrong?
カジュアルに「どうしたの？」と様子を訪ねる表現。What are you doing?(何をしているの？), What is happening?（何が起きてるの？）等の意味でも使われます。

| Bridget: | This graph shows the net sales of all of our drinks since January this year. As you can see, sales rose steadily from January to March and then markedly increased in April. |
| Matt: | Why was that? |
| Bridget: | Well, actually, this trend occurs every year. Sales usually pick up just before the Golden week holidays. |

| Bridget: | Now, after the holidays, sales fell slightly, but then dramatically increased in June after we began our new advertising campaign peaking at 62 million in August. |
| Matt: | Wow! That's impressive. |
| Bridget: | Yes, it is, isn't it? Now, as we predicted, sales fell marginally, but remained somewhat stable in September. Nevertheless, sales were 8% higher than sales for the same period last year. |
| Matt: | That's good news. |
| Bridget: | Yes, but! Now if I could draw your attention to this graph of the October/November sales figures. As you can see, they began to decrease moderately at the beginning of October. This is most likely due to the usual seasonal variation: As the weather becomes cooler, sales of cold drinks also tend to decline. However, in the middle of October, there was a dramatic downturn in sales that coincided with our competitor's advertising campaign for hot drinks. |
| Matt: | Oh dear. |
| Bridget: | Although our sales have bottomed out, they are at an all time low for this period. This is why I believe we must begin a new ad campaign. |
| Matt: | Well, based on those figures, I'd have to agree. |
