“Make a pass at...”
<英語でdefinition!> Talk to a man or woman with the intention of dating them.
ここでの"pass"は、「色目」という意味です。"Make a pass"は「ナンパする」「言い寄る」というイディオムで、at以下に言い寄る対象を付け加えることができます。
ちなみに"pass"には、アメフトなど球技の際に「パスを出す」という際の「パス」の意味もあります。状況/文脈によっては、"make a pass"は、「（球技の最中に）パスを出す」という意味にもなります。
例文 I am sure that man with the dark blue shirt made a pass at me. He was constantly complementing my appearance.

| Roy: | You know all this part-time work I’ve been doing? It’s all been in order to save money to go travelling around Asia. I’ve got my flight tickets, and I leave the day after the Graduation ceremony. |
| Jun: | Where have you decided to go first? |
| Roy: | My first destination is Singapore. Then, I intend to take a train up through Malaysia - stopping over in Kuala Lumpur for a couple of days to hook up with some relatives living there - before arriving in Bangkok a week later. |
| Jun: | I’m envious! I really enjoyed taking that train - it goes right through the heart of the Malaysian jungle. Beautiful! |
| Roy: | After Bangkok, I’m contemplating hopping on a plane over to Cambodia to see Angkor Wat. |
| Jun: | Don’t contemplate going there! Go! It’s a stunningly beautiful temple. And It’s Gigantic! |
| Roy: | I’ve read all about it in a guidebook, but I’ve also heard that flights tickets are pretty hard to get. If that’s the case, I will make my way through Thailand and Myanmar to India. |
| Jun: | Also, if you get the chance, I highly recommend going to Vietnam. It’s becoming more developed, and all it’s old charm will soon be lost forever. I went two years back and loved it. Such friendly people, and wonderful food. |
| Roy: | But I need to arrive in New Delhi a month from today to be in time to meet my friend who’s flying over from London. |
| Jun: | Yes, It’ll be good to have someone else with you for some of the time. Travelling alone can be a little lonely at times. So, when can I expect to see you back in Tokyo? |
| Roy: | I can’t say for certain, but it’ll be when my money runs out. |
